Known HDR Issues with Fences Portals

In Windows 11, the use of HDR displays with Fences Portals may experience the following issue:

A blank text box appears when renaming a program within a Folder Portal Fence.

If this is occurring in Windows 11, a fix is available through the following steps:

Step 1: Verify if the issue is the result of an HDR conflict

  • Navigate to Settings > System > Display > Windows HD Color settings.

  • If Use HDR is turned on, turn it off and check if the issue with Fences still occurs.

Step 2: If the issue does not occur when HDR is off

  • Turn HDR back on

  • Navigate to System > Display > Advanced display

  • Disable Automatically manage color for apps
