Coronata Guide - (Advent Wrath Titan)

Introduction

Your holiness, as a response to the growing threat of the splinter faction among our ranks, we have developed a truly glorious vessel – the Coronata titan. With this ship in your fleet, you will bring our enemies to their knees.

In order to make your path easier, we have written this manual, on how to conquer the galaxy with a Coronata titan.

Please note, that any in-game values you see are for the patch 28.30.

Short Lore

Designed around the Wrath’s philosophy of vengeance against their enemies and control over everyone else, the Coronata titan is a true juggernaut. Psionic adepts are able to empower the ship’s weapons to potentially mind control any opponent they strike and can also draw upon nearby Advent ships to lend extra strength to the Coronata’s Unity Mass assault. As if this weren’t deadly enough, the Coronata has the ability to instantly possess any enemy world it comes across for the Unity.

With 8.000 crew, the Coronata is second only to Vasari titans which also house portions of civilian population.

Basics

The Coronata is specialized in killing high value targets, very much like the Ragnarov titan. However, unlike the Ragnarov which draws most of its potential from raw weaponry, the Coronata follows the Advent approach of synergies and abilities.

This means that it’s not enough to simply build the titan: You will need to meet a variety of preparations for your titan to unravel its full potential. Once you do so, the Coronata gets ahead of even the very much feared Ragnarov.

Abilities

Unity Mass is your main ability. It’s a high damage, single target ability. Note that it has 1,000 pierce so it does “pure” damage to any kind of target, including starbases.

The default level 1 ability deals 1,000 damage per cast, which is a lot, but not that impressive.

You have two ways to increase this damage: First is to simply have ships nearby. Up to 50 allied ships will provide you with PSI power, which is later translated into the ability boost. At higher levels, the number of ships boosting increases along with other ability stats. The second way is to get PSI directly from items, research or abilities.

No matter how you earn PSI, it’s worth the same amount of buff to your ability. Currently this amounts to 1 extra damage per PSI at level 1. The extra damage grows with the ability level. Since you can get several hundred PSI in late game, this builds up to some incredible damage.

A level 3 Unity Mass can go beyond 5,000 damage per cast.

NOTE: This ability gains you PSI per nearby ship, which then can be used not just for this ability but buffs your PSI power for all other abilities as well.

Subjugation allows you to convert enemy ships within a small radius. The chance of conversion is relatively low, and while it can be boosted via PSI, the effect of PSI is miniscule.

This ability may not appear all too strong, but when combined with all other small conversions the Advent have, it can really hit your opponent. Furthermore, as with any conversion ability, it allows you to exceed your current max supply, including going beyond the 2,000 you get in late game.

Suppression Aura is a passive support ability that reduces enemy speed and weapon damage. As with previous abilities, this one also benefits off PSI at a rate of 1% per 10 PSI. When deciding which one to go for as your secondary ability, Suppression Aura is advisable in fierce battles with unpredictable outcomes, while Subjugation can be used on enemies you are already dominating.

Repossession is your ultimate ability. It does not add to your firepower and may look underwhelming at first. However, if you are matched against an equal opponent, you will often find yourself fighting on choke planets, where you struggle to push due to all the static defenses.

This ability bypasses all of the protections of a planet, including starbase bombardment protection, and brings it under your control. This then allows you to begin construction of your own defenses on such a choke point. Since you can now also rotate buildings, you could rotate your defenses into enemy lines, breaking their final line of defense.

Titan Modules – Offense

Your one and only weapon upgrade are Heavy Beams. Those are anti-capital ship weapons and will bolster the primary role of your titan in killing high value targets.

Next item on the list is the Plasma Agitator. As heavy plasma is your main damage dealer you can consider installing this item.

The alternative to it is the Energy Accelerator, which will simply boost all your energy weapons - aka all your titan weapons.

Finally, a somewhat tricky, yet very powerful item is Vex Amplifier, which significantly improves the fire rate of all weapons. What is even more relevant is that it’s boosted by PSI. Currently, you get 0.625% extra weapon reload for each PSI point. This is no joke, as you can stack several hundred PSI on your titan in late game.

Titan Modules – Defense

Just as with the Eradica, the Coronata offers only a single health upgrade. When compared with other races, this means you do not get higher levels of the health item. This does make your titans somewhat more squishy.

Shield Booster provides more shields and regeneration. However, the regeneration stat may be somewhat misleading as you do not have in-combat regeneration, so the extra 10 shields per second activates only outside combat. You do get more health from shield burst, so it does increase your effective in-combat regeneration, just with another mechanic.

Furthermore, Shield Booster synergizes with the “Synchronous Shield” item, which provides even more shields and even more shield burst points.

Finally, PsiKinetic Plating provides you with extra armor points and armor strength. The latter is also boosted by your PSI at a rate of 0.75 Armor Strength per PSI. Advent are not particularly strong in the armor department, so this also makes this item more useful, as in Sins math getting more Armor Strength on a low base value provides you with a more significant boost.

Titan Modules – Suggested Loadout

Every situation is different, but having some baseline is always helpful. For this reason, the High Council recommends the following loadout:

Our first 4 slots go completely to the offense modules, as we get all of them. We start with the extra beams, as they offer very high DPS at high pierce, and continue with % boosting items, including the plasma boosting one.

NOTE: There are items which have 2 levels. Researching the second level will double the benefit of an item.

After that we dedicate 2 slots to defense items. Namely Shield Booster and Synchronous Shield, for higher survivability of our titan.

Finally, we dedicate 2 slots for PSI boosting items, such as Psionic Dynamo and Harmony Circuit. Even though Psionic Dynamo offers up to 100 PSI, realistically you will not get more than 50 out of it, so Harmony Circuit is the better one here.

Strategies

The Coronata titan excels at killing high value targets, but it requires some time to get momentum with all the items, technologies, and synergies. Building a Coronata gives you only a limited power spike, but your strength will steadily grow.

Your default weaponry is mediocre. Of course, the Coronata is stronger than any other capital ship, but you cannot rely on weapons alone as you could with Ragnarov titan. However, if you carefully build around the Unity Mass ability, you will kill any other titan in a 1v1 battle.

For this you need to grab all the PSI abilities from the technology tree and also build a Revelation capital ship, as it provides not just an ability cooldown buff but also a PSI boost. Once you have your Revelation, you should get a Harmony Circuit item on the capital ship as well, because that item allows you boost any other nearby ship with 50 PSI.

At the same time, having high PSI on a Revelation means greater ability cooldown reduction on your titan, as that ability benefits from PSI. As you can see, this synergy makes a full circle since you also have a Harmony Circuit on your titan, which can be used on Revelation, to boost the boost of the Revelation on your titan.

Enemies may try to snipe your Revelation before going for the titan. If you are unable to keep your Revelation safe, consider getting the Aluxian item on your titan for faster ability cooldown.

Your titan is capable of overwhelming any single target but will struggle against swarms. This is where the support abilities come in handy. Subjugation is a great tool if you are already winning to make your victory even more decisive. In this case, “already winning” stands for having little to no loss when fighting an opponent, hence you do not care for the damage reduction.

However, in battles where you are struggling to push, having Suppression Aura is better because it offers higher % of enemy capacities being disabled. This ability also gets better boost from PSI, which helps a lot, when trying to make a comeback.

No matter which support ability you decide to choose, you will still need a full support fleet to deal with swarms of enemies. What’s even better, having a fleet boosts all of your abilities – because, if you remember, you get PSI for each ship nearby.

All of the synergies are nice, but this raises the question if there is anything to do with a Coronata while you are waiting for them to hit, or should you always simply retreat, against, let’s say a Ragnarov.

The answer is no! Or let me give you an even better answer – Vengeance!

The Rapture Battlecruiser has an ability which reflects all of the incoming damage back to the attacker. Even at level 1 you will reflect 60%, which will be more than enough to make up for the difference in default capabilities of a Coronata and Ragnarov.

Just be aware, that this ability can only soften up enemy swarms attacking your titan, but never straight out kill them.

With this knowledge you are best suited to reclaim our Homeplanet and teach the unworthy a lesson, your Holiness!
