Bugs/Crashes:

  • The generated text from AlienGPT for the civ summary is clearly cut off without a scroll

    • This also happened for an unassigned leader on the recruitment screen

Dislikes:

Likes:

  • Likes the flavor text of loading screen being destroying a galaxy

  • Likes the new opening cutscene and was pleasedly surprised by it

  • Enjoys the AlienGPT text

  • Likes the sector and galaxy customizability, he prefers small sectors and large galaxies

  • Likes the randomized discounted Techs for variety

Suggestions/Opinions:

  • Wishes asteroid miners had an auto-deploy button like colony ships do. The colony ship feature works so well, and it seems like an obvious win to add a similar function to Asteroid Miners because their deployment is pretty straightforward and doesn't usually require a lot of interesting player decision-making.

  • Wishes it were easier to spot which space resources (like Durantium, etc...) were being actively mined vs untapped to make it easier to know where to send constructor ships. 

    • Other than mousing over the resource to confirm in the tooltip that it's being sent to a mining starbase (mine or an opponent), I personally have a really hard time seeing if something is already being worked. 

    • Maybe a little flag showing the owner, or grey them out. Or put a glowing outline around untapped ones when a constructor ship is selected? It could even be a new tab in the Data Bank screen to list all known resources, tapped and untapped. Anything like that would be a big quality of life win.

Overview:

  • Immediately notes that Supernova feels more like GalCiv 4.5

  • Follow up by noting that Supernova has a dramatic number of changes

    • focused on flavor and story content

  • Outlines procedural A.I generation but refers to it as using ChatGPT rather than AlienGPT

  • Notes that the art being generated is trained on our past art as instructed by influencer guide

    • Personal Note: Constantly stating this makes people think that it's a live generation

  • Prefers Many sectors with small galaxies, and used that setup for the game

  • Does not really overview the new unlocked civs, or even mention them

  • Does a great job navigating the game

  • Great review and quick explanation of tech screen

  • keeps a good positive energy throughout

  • Goes over features and mechanics as they come up, such as tech navigator, auto survey, etc

  • Quick simple explanations on stats, we should probably take tutorial notes

  • Was unsure if star color had mechanical meaning, and honestly it isn’t explained anywhere
