Internet-isolated or Air-Gapped Deployments

Internet-isolated or Air-Gapped Deployments

For Internet-isolated or Air-Gapped Deployments

If your PCs do not have direct internet access, but can communicate with an internal server that does, you can enable Stardock software activation using one of the following approaches:

Option 1: Use Your Existing Proxy

Configure your internal proxy server to allow outbound passthrough for:

https://activate.api.stardock.net:443

Then, configure your isolated PCs to resolve activate.api.stardock.net to the internal proxy's IP address by either:

  • Adding an override to your internal DNS

  • Updating the local hosts file

No decryption, SSL inspection, or payload modification is required.
All activation data is securely encrypted end-to-end over TLS.

Option 2: Use Stardock’s Local Proxy (Optional)

If configuring your existing proxy is not feasible, Stardock provides a lightweight, standalone proxy that can run on an internal server to securely relay activation requests.

This proxy:

  • Listens locally on port 443

  • Forwards activation traffic to activate.api.stardock.net

  • Logs connections, byte counts, and supports graceful shutdown
