Bugs/Crashes:
If I leave the game for a few minutes while recording or if I alt-tab to windows upon coming back, the game is in some sort of frozen state until I right-click on the screen somewhere.
Dislikes:
When the player reaches a final tech in a tech tree, the science advisors keep suggesting to the player to develop those techs with the 50% boost, but in no way are those techs clearly marked as final, and there is no new tech behind them. I ended up researching the same tech over and over until I took a look at the tech navigator. And even after manually choosing new tech from the tree, in which I haven't reached the end, the science advisors kept offering me the same end tech at 50%.
Pirates are kind of hard to notice until I manually put my mouse over a fleet I think is theirs.
The icons for the citizens of a planet are very small for the amount of information they carry. Since they have their own stats, with the icons for job type and level of approval, it becomes really hard to put my mouse on the citizen himself to read their main stats. There is very little room left, and for some reason, the tooltip often won't show up until I click a few times on the citizen.
Found the communication and tooltip for the food resource confusing
Finds the trade breakdown window is honestly incomprehensible and really hard to put to use.
The names of the planets are usually hard to remember, and the number of available trade licenses doesn't logically add up with the visual view.
Likes:
Good tempo and does finish quickly once all civilizations get to the top of tech, warfare and culture or prestige
Tooltips are helpful
Suggestions/Opinions:
The card for final techs should somehow be marked with a box of a very different color to make it obvious.
It would be useful if enemy fleets inside my borders got some sort of red circle, star, or small icon to show they are hostile. Especially if a player zooms out a lot.
When it comes to special resources or buildings on a planet, you might want to add some extra ways for players to notice they have extra options for improving those tiles. Like an arrow, icon, or outline when the player hasn't constructed the possible improvement.
As for shipyards, it would be handy if there were a button to clear the whole build queue with one click instead of me having to remove each item by hand by pressing on the X icon.
Would like the ability to group multiple fleets together for movement
Would like a more prominent notification when a new galactic challenge is unlocked
Didn't see a way to figure out which ship is damaged when it is part of a fleet except to manually click through each ship in the fleet and check their HP. Suggests a damaged ship get a yellow icon border
Would advise doing a redesign based on the planet's visual location instead of their text based names. Or just make a visual overlay that goes over the main map view, and the player can see lines in different colors representing planets connected by trade. That way, it would take a player just one, two clicks to figure out which planets already have trade routes and where he can send the next trade ship.
Overview:
Provided a gameplay overview guide video and is also excited for Sins
Overall, he very much enjoyed the game and played quite a bit to make his video.
Like other creators, I'm noticing a trend of the influencer guide making them think images are live generated, we should reword it to: “AlienGPT searches the user's text prompt for keywords in order to match the custom civ to a selection of images from our pre-generated library, updated regularly by our artists, and trained specifically on Stardock’s own internal art library.”
