Is the Start11 v2 base product, and the ‘upgrade’ options, a subscription or a lifetime license?

Both are lifetime licenses.

What are the PC quantity and pricing options for the upgrade?

  • Start11 single (PC) license

  • Start11 single license upgrade

  • Start11 5-Pack
    1 key issued that can be used on 5 PCs

  • Start11 5-Pack upgrade (available 10/31/2023)

‘Upgrade’ pricing is available to anyone who has activated any of the following products under their account:

  • Start8

  • Start10

  • Start11 version 1

What if I recently Purchased Start11 v1?

Anyone who purchased Start11 v1 On October 1st, 2023 or later will receive a complimentary upgrade. Please watch your email or check your Stardock account for details about the download - expected availability for the upgrade will be in early November.

If I purchase Start11 v2, can I get more licenses at a discount?

Yes, once you purchase Start11 v2 (or any Start product), you will be able to get additional Start11 v2 licenses at a discount using the 'upgrade' link on the product page(s).


Note: It would be prudent to choose the highest quantity you believe you will need for your 1st purchase \ upgrade as if you use the ‘upgrade’ option, new keys will be issued instead of adding PCs to an existing key.


Will there be ‘For Business’ pricing available for Start11 v2?

How many Start11 v2 activations are there if I purchase Object Desktop?

Start11 v2 will have 5 concurrent activations (PCs) as do all the other Object Desktop products.

If I have an expired Object Desktop license, will that qualify me for a discount for Start11?

No; however, every lapsed Object Desktop subscription can be renewed at a substantial discount - that renewed license will include Start11 v2 (and all its future updates while the Object Desktop license is active).

How will this affect Steam purchases for Start11 v2?

Typically, an upgrade discount is offered to Steam users for a particular software application during a window of time (several weeks) surrounding the initial release.  During this time, when visiting the new app’s Steam store page, the discount will be shown as a percentage off the normal price.  Once that window of time has passed, we frequently participate in Steam sales events, and Start11 v2 is frequently included.
