Unit Actions
All ships and offensive structures in the game feature a command bar similar to the one below.
Let’s go over what each button does:
1 | Move: Orders the selected ship(s) to move to the location you click on. This replicates the standard mouse option of selecting units and then right-clicking on the destination. Group Move: When you have a Fleet or multiple units selected, this button also determines how they will phase jump. By default (shown above), units will individually move to a new system when ordered. If you right-click this button, you can set your units/Fleet to jump together instead. |
2 | Attack: Orders the select units to attack the enemy you click on. This command applies to both units and Fleets, so if you have a Fleet selected and click on an enemy, the entire fleet will prioritize that target. Additionally, you can click on a group of enemies via the Context Bar on the upper-right. |
3 | Engagement Range: Determines how your unit(s) will behave in combat.
|
4 | Stop: Cancels any queued and active orders and tells the unit to stop at its current position. |
5 | Advanced Orders: This sub-menu will vary slightly depending on what’s selected, but for units you’ll typically see the following options: - Rotate: Rotates the selected unit(s) facing to a position. - Toggle Scuttle: Orders the selected unit(s) to self-destruct after a period of time. |
6 | Retreat: Sometimes you just need to escape a bad situation. Clicking this button will order your unit(s) to immediately retreat to the nearest friendly gravity well. They will not wait to jump as a group and will break off any other actions. |
