Adding a KVM Connection

Clicking 'Add computer' at the bottom of the KVM tab on the Primary will bring up the option to add a Secondary computer.  If the desired computer is not found automatically, it can be added by the IP address instead. Click the 'Add' button once complete.

If this is a first-time installation, and you have selected 'KVM mode', you will be automatically presented with the 'Add computer' menu.

Adding by IP address

Adding a Secondary by IP is the desired method if one or the other PC is connected to a VPN.  You would add the IP where both machines share the same subnet.

If a Secondary computer's name does not appear in the list, please make sure Multiplicity is properly installed and running on the Secondary you wish to connect to.  You may also type in the IP address of the Secondary as an alternative.  A Secondary computer may not appear in the list and enter the IP address in the computer name field may bypass issues that are preventing the computer name from showing.  This is also helpful when a VPN connection is active on the Primary or Secondary.

After clicking 'Add', enter in the passcode (1), test (2), and Save (3) if successful.

Click 'OK' and then 'Save' on the prior screen to add the KVM connection.

Next, enter the key combination that will initiate KVM mode.

Quick tip: You can right click the KVM connection and create a shortcut to it on the desktop:
