Mutiplicity Settings

Share clipboard between computers

These settings control what Copy and paste \ drag and drop functions are allowed between the Primary and Secondary computers.  This is a global setting and will control how these operations work for all connected Secondary computers.

Pressing the Ctrl key three times will toggle keyboard input being sent to all computers

Pressing the Ctrl key (left one) three times on the Primary will send any subsequent keyboard input to all Secondary Multiplicity computers simultaneously.  Pressing it again three times stops the keyboard broadcasting. An audible 'beep' will sound when turned on and off.

Switch focus back to this computer based on touch screen input

Using touchscreen input on the Primary will bring the mouse cursor back to the Primary.

Lock Secondary computers when this computer is locked

Locks all Secondary Multiplicity connected computers when the Primary is locked.  This is the case whether it is done by command or if the Primary is set to lock within Windows after a period of time has passed without user action.

Automatically unlock those computers (Requires configuration on the Secondary computers)

This will allow the Secondary machines to be unlocked at the same time as the Primary machine. If the Secondary machine/s requires a password to unlock, it can be specified under the 'Security' tab of the Secondary in the 'Automatic unlocking of this computer section.

Mouse switching

Selecting 'Control switching based on mouse movement' will bring up the mouse switching options:

Mouse should wrap around the grid

With this setting enabled, the mouse cursor can move past the farthest edge of a connected Multiplicity computer monitor and have it appear on the monitor configured at the other side of the grid.  An example of a three-computer setup: Secondary one (left of Primary), Primary, and Secondary two (right of Primary). Moving the cursor past the left edge of Secondary one's leftmost monitor would have the cursor appear on Secondary two's rightmost monitor.

In essence, this setting creates 360 degrees of cursor movement.

Switching is allowed on small monitor gaps

If you have misaligned monitors where there is a small gap between the monitor edge and the edge of the virtual desktop space enabling this option allows the switch.

Prevent computer switching via mouse movement

Prevents the cursor from traversing to other Multiplicity computers unless certain criteria have been met.  For example, checking 'Unless shift is held down' would only allow the cursor to pass to another Multiplicity-connected computer if the shift key was held down.

Setup encryption key

This sets the encryption key that is used for every Multiplicity connected computer to secure data transfers.  This is a global setting and needs to be the same for the Primary and every connected Secondary.

Show Multiplicity in the System Tray

With this enabled, a Multiplicity icon will show in the computer's system tray.

Prevent num-lock syncing on computer switching

Prevents the num-lock key state on the Primary from being observed on the Secondary computers.

Only allow clipboard connections from computers on the same subnet

If enabled, any clipboard contents will only be allowed to be copied \ pasted from PCs on the same subnet.

Prevent Secondary computers sleeping whilst using this computer

If enabled, while the Primary PC is being used, it will prevent the Secondary PCs from entering a sleep state.

On screen indicators

Darken the screen when controlling another computer

Darkens all of the monitors except for the monitor(s) connected to the computer that Multiplicity is currently controlling.

Show status window when controlling another computer

A status window appears on the main monitor of the Primary Multiplicity computer detailing what Secondary it is currently controlling.

Show a colored line on the computer with focus

Will show a green border around the PC that has the mouse focus.
