• Speaking of resource extraction, is there any plans to make the orbital extractors upgradable or automatically upgrade themselves as we tech up? Discord - Group Chat That’s All Fun & Games

  • Side note/workaround for context: If a planet has a resource deposit on its surface—like a Techapod Hive, Xanthium, Harmony Crystals, etc.—you can add a governor and rush construction of the relevant farm or mine extractor and then immediately fire the governor from the Governors screen. Only do this with the same governor each time, because firing a leader reduces that leader's loyalty. And never leave that disloyal leader on the planet during the AI turns. Basically you should be doing this within the space of your turn.

• Does the base game here have anything like that (ie being able to buy some quirky ships from a bazar?) or will such a thing come in the form of a future DLC again?Mercenaries :: Galactic Civilizations IV General Discussions

  • Answer: We do not currently have plans for being able to hire mercenaries from the bazaar like in GC3: Mercenaries but it’s not out of the realm of possibility.

    • Note: The closest thing seems to be commander ships to my understanding.
